The Tuscany Region, in partnership with important training institutions in the Siena area, is promoting a free training course for the certification of competencies in “Electric Arc Welding Equipment and Welding” (UC 1830) and “Gas Welding, Brazing, MIG MAG Welding” (UC 1831). This initiative, funded by the European Union as part of NextGenerationEU and the GOL (Guarantee of Employability for Workers) program with the support of ANPAL, represents a significant opportunity for unemployed individuals, workers, and vulnerable categories eager to re-skill or update their competencies in the dynamic mechanical sector.

Siena, Centro Sperimentale del Mobile e dell’Arredamento, and Formimpresa, is aimed at 8 to 11 students. The objective is to provide advanced technical-professional competencies, responding to the needs of the job market, with particular attention to various welding operations (electric, gas, MIG, MAG), brazing, and finishing of welded surfaces.

The training pathway, at EQF Level 3, includes specific Training Units covering:

  • Quality and safety in welding (48 hours)

A mandatory attendance rate of 70% of the total hours is required, with at least 50% of the internship hours.

At the end of the pathway, upon passing a final examination that includes a written test, a technical-practical test, and an individual interview, a Certificate of Competencies for UC 1830 and UC 1831 will be issued. For those who do not pass the exam or interrupt the pathway, a declaration of learned skills will still be issued.

The enrolment process is divided into two phases:

  1. Phase 1 – Access to the GOL Program: interested candidates must register for the GOL program exclusively at the Employment Centres in the Tuscan territory. Here, based on the outcomes of an orientation interview, they will be directed towards a specific pathway (Upskilling or Reskilling).
  2. Phase 2 – Course Enrolment: once directed towards Measures 2 or 3, beneficiaries can enrol in the chosen training course. This phase can be completed at an Employment Centre or an accredited Employment Agency.
