The world of design is constantly evolving, and with it, the need for professionals who are increasingly prepared to face the challenges of a global and digitalized market. It’s in this context that DID, a key player in the innovation landscape, actively engages in EU projects alongside international partners. The objective? To develop cutting-edge tools, methods, and training paths to stimulate competitiveness in the interior design sector and bring innovative structures to life.
At the heart of this vision is the INTRIDE Project – Erasmus + 2019 KNOWLEDGE ALLIANCE, an ambitious initiative aimed at training the “Smart Designers” of the future. It’s not just about aesthetics or functionality, but about deeply integrating soft, digital, and green skills.
The Designer as an Innovation Driver for SMEs
INTRIDE recognizes the designer as a true element of innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector. Too often, SMEs struggle to keep pace with rapid market changes. This is where the designer, with an expanded skill set, can make a difference, becoming a catalyst for growth and competitiveness.
The main goal of the project is the co-creation of a Joint Curriculum for designers. Starting from their innate creative abilities, the curriculum is substantially enriched with digital skills, essential for making the most of new technologies and online opportunities; green skills, fundamental for promoting sustainability and an eco-friendly approach to design; and above all, soft skills. The latter, often underestimated, include abilities such as effective communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and the capacity for teamwork—all crucial for navigating complex and dynamic work environments.
